This must be traumatizing for American player Nicole Fawcett! It’s her first time playing in Brazil and this incident could be the scariest one for her so far. Well we hope something like this won’t ever happen again! FIGHTING is NOT GOOD ladies especially if you have kids in the gym watching you!
Fawcett’s team, Minas, won the match and we heard her Cuban teammate, HERRERA, played so well that a BMG player SLAPPED her while the players were shaking hands. Yes! Someone SLAPPED HERRERA across the net after the match. The fight escalated and it turned out like this (We’re still looking for the SLAPPING part):
To SEE Nicole looking lost and maybe a little frightened forward to 0:59. She wears the #1 jersey.
We even have PICS of Nicole (#1) looking lost and she might be telling herself: “What the HELLo is going on?” Girlfriend is not used to it. Fighting before and after a volleyball match is RARE in the USA. The players are well taught how to handle rage & anger from their opponents so they write their feelings on Facebook instead Kidding!
Side Dish: WIME, the player who slapped Herrera, said she lost control and she lost her mind. She’s aware that what she did was not right in front of the kids. (Well girlfriend the good thing is you know you did something wrong but the bad thing is you will always be remembered as a SORE LOSER! Herrerra is from Cuba and she was very happy to be in Brazil and now you just ruined her first time experience. You should be suspended.) Another source (Thanks MPB) said that Herrera instigated the RAGE by screaming, pointing and etc ( You know how Magalys Carvajal provoked the Brazilians in the 1996 Olympics? Just like that!). Well if this was the case, Herrera deserved her actions to be corrected. But slapping her and to get physical was still not the right choice. Make PEACE Ladies! The world needs it.
