It’s not official but it’s getting there.
Blue eyed outside hitter from Poland, Michal Winiarski, has reportedly left Polish club team, Skra Belchatow, after 4 successful years (2009-2012). The 29 year old will head to Russia nxt season and will play for Fakieła Nowy Urengoj.
“Skra has a very special place in Michal’s heart but the time has come for him to try a different league and a different country. This is a big move for him but playing in one of the world’s best leagues, ie Russian Super League, will help him become a stronger player.” says our source.
As for Winiar’s paycheck, the source adds that Fakel is offering him a year contract worth more than $500,000.
“For financial reasons, of course it’s a great move for Winiar!” ends the source.
In case you didn’t know, Winiarski and Skra Belchatow had a forgettable 2012/2013 season. The team only finished 5th in the Polish League after dominating it for several seasons. Skra also missed the Final 4 of the prestigious Champions League.
Winiarski’s Skra teammates like Wytze Kooistra, Mariusz Wlazly and Dante Bonifante will play for different teams in the 2013/2014 season.
We really hope Michal enjoys and loves the snow. It gets extremely cold in Russia.
