At the end of the day, these women are 2 of the most successful beach volleyball athletes our generation has ever seen. Whatever happened and happens between the 2 of them, it’s all part of the job.
In an article released by the FIVB, two time Olympic medalist, April Ross, finally responds to Kerri Walsh Jennings’ statement about finding a “true partner” after both athletes ended their partnership a few days ago due to professional differences.
“I heard that and I don’t understand it so I don’t think it bothers me because it was kind of confusing. I know that I was a great partner. I’ve been told over and over and over again that I’m a great partner. I know she has her own feelings and reasons for feeling that way, but it doesn’t bother me because I know I’m a great partner.
You know, Kerri and I had real high expectations and I still have high expectations for myself but at the same time it’s fun to be out here just groveling and being stoked to make it to Sunday. There’s nothing that says you have to win every time. It’s always in you, but if you don’t win every single time, you don’t need to beat yourself up over it. It’s just fun to be out here working and competing for it.”
Once again, we wish both of them the best as they start their own journeys.
