July 18th, 2015:
This is just sad.
Foxsports.com reports that 3 time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings may have a shoulder surgery and may be out for the entire 2015 season.
Will she still play in Rio for the 2016 Olympics?
Kerri says SHE WILL BE THERE!
“I plan on winning in Rio. So if I have surgery, I’m not worried about it. Every surgery I’ve had — this is kind of standard, they say six months — but I’ve always been back in three to four. This isn’t my first rodeo.
I need to get everything around my rotator cuff and my shoulder really strong. (My doctor) wants me to work on the little things. I need to get it stable, first and foremost, so that’s why I’m taking time off.”
Kerri will rehab for a month and we can all hope she won’t need surgery.
Her beach partner April Ross remains optimistic.
“There’s no doubt Kerri will be ready for Rio. She needs to take it easy. Mentally, she’s so strong, she can power through.”
Have a speedy recovery Superwoman!

July 11th, 2015:
Three-time Olympic champion Kerri Walsh Jennings dislocated her shoulder mid-match, had it reset, and then along with partner April Ross defeated the reigning women’s volleyball world champions, according to NBCSports.com.
The injury, which took place during the quarterfinals of a tournament in Gstaad, Switzerland, didn’t prevent Walsh Jennings and Ross from defeating Brazil’s Agatha Bednarczuk and Barbara Seixas 21-17, 23-21.
Kerri and April withdrew from the Semifinals due to “Injury”.
We really hope it’s not another serious injury for Kerri. She had a shoulder injury last May. She’s also had 4 shoulder surgeries throughout her amazing career.
Get well soon Kerri!
