FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship MVP & gold medalist Mariusz Wlazly has been named SportsMan of the Year at the SportAccord Euronews Awards Ceremony in Sochi, Russia.
If you’re a Wlazly, Winiarski, Bartman, Zygadlo and Ignaczak fan, you may get a bid disappointed. They have reportedly RETIRED from the National Team and therefore they have been excluded from Coach Antiga’s list for the 2015 season.

Last October 2014, we reported that Polish opposite spiker Grzegorz Bociek was diagnosed with cancer of the lymphatic system. He had to be away from volleyball to undergo chemotherapy.
They got rid of Przedpelski who was arrested a few months ago due to corruption. We hope the newly elected Pawel Papke will focus on the women’s team who has been struggling to achieve success in recent years.

One of our favorite Polish players Michal Kubiak has suffered a serious hand injury (broken fingers) which requires surgery. Polish Volleyball Federation President Miroslaw Przepdelski has confirmed the SAD news.
