Just when there are only a few days left to determine the biggest in Europe in ladies’ volleyball, excitement continues to increase with teams and players just as it does with fans. One of the players among others in this upcoming volleyball celebration at the 2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League in Szczecin this weekend is already familiar with this excitement. Naz Aydemir Akyol, who managed to wear the uniform during all Champions League Final Fours since 2009, will compete to reach the cup with her team VakifBank ISTANBUL once again.
Even though she is only 24 years old, the successful setter, who was able to have many medals in her career both at club and national team levels, thinks that playing at Final Fours for seven times consecutively is all because of “being at the right place at the right time.”
“Goals of the teams, which I wore the uniforms of, have always been at top levels,” she says. “In order to reach these goals, we have always worked very hard with my teammates and coaches. This is my third season with VakifBank and we have already won eight cups and broke a world record in these three seasons, and we lost only one final game. This is an incredible success for a player and for a team.”
Naz noted that playing at Champions League Final Fours for the seventh consecutive time and added: “A volleyball player cannot dream anything more than this. I hope that we can continue to be at these levels for longer years with my team. Just like we did before, we will do our best to be the biggest in Europe this weekend.”
