Zaytsev is the youngest player in the history of Italian club team LUBE Macerata to be appointed as Team Captain.
The 25 year old becomes Cristian Savani’s successor and will now lead his team in the Italian League and the prestigious Champions League.
Ivan tells sport.panorama.it:
“I accepted this role with great satisfaction and pride.
I consider this role a very important part of my maturity as an athlete and as a man.
I just turned 25 and I am now the youngest captain in the history of Lube. Being the captain for a team with rich history in volleyball is a big responsibility. I have fully accepted the tasks and my heart is willing to take the challenges.
To honor my Lube shirt, I promise to play my best with the desire to win with my team.
My captaincy will debut this Sunday”.
