Ivana’s Earthquake Experience

Scary Indeed!

Serbian player, Ivana Nesovic, who is currently playing in Japan for Denso shares her scary experience last week while in Nisio.

“I was in Okayama during the earthquake. We felt no quakes there but I had to get back to the center 2 days after the quake.

I saw on the news that things were falling there and the height of the tsunami was around one meter. The warning was withdrawn after a few hours, and, what is of most importance – there were no casualties.

The quake took place at almost the same area that was devastated by the big earthquake and tsunami last year. We didn’t panic at all here in Okayama but people in Nisio did.

The road back home to Nisio leads through very long tunnels which were shaken by the last quake, and those are the most dangerous spots, since no one knows if there are going to be more quakes soon. A few days ago, one tunnel collapsed & led to human casualties.”

Scaryyyyyyyyyyyy!

Knowing that the Japanese archipelago is located in an area where several continental and oceanic plates meet, its location causes frequent earthquakes. When earthquakes occur below or close to the ocean, they may trigger tidal waves (tsunami).

All we can say is…

Be Safe Everyone!
