S U R P R I S E!
2011 was a great senior year for Alex. She was the first volleybelle from USC to win the AVCA National Player of the Year , the 4th player in the history of USC to win the Honda Award (which honors the nation’s top female volleyball player) and Volleyball Magazine’s National Player of the Year.
Fast forward to today…
The 6’3 outside hitter who is from France posted this message on her Fan Page:
I’ve had an amazing experience at USC but it is now time to inform you supporters that this year will be my first season of professional beach volleyball. My childhood dream has always been to become a legendary beach volleyball player and I am ready to make this dream come true. I hope all you loving fans will still follow me and support me with this new start in my career 🙂 I am currently searching sponsors for the upcoming beach season starting in May, if you’d like to help or have any suggestions please inbox me, thank you all in advance! Fight On!
We’re a bit shocked with her decision. We thought she had a good shot of making it to the French National Team and even find a good club team in Europe wherein she’s guaranteed to make $$$. Beach life nowadays in the US of A is experiencing some problems, ie money problems. If you’re a newbie, it’s really tough to get sponsors. Maybe she’s planning to start her beach career in France?
Anyways, we support AJ with her decision and no doubt her determination to succeed will take her to greener pastures!
G-luck Girl!
