Argentina’s Facundo Conte is currently playing in the Polish League this season for Skra Belchatow. Due to an injury earlier this year, Facu is NOT yet fully recovered and he is physically limited to show to the rest of the world the kind of game he is known for.
For this season, Coach Falasca assigns Facu as a bench model defensive specialist which is totally fine with him.
“I want to play of course but I don’t mind being a bench player at all. I will do my best to help the team and execute the tasks assigned to me by Coach Falasca.”
He also shares the very important lesson he has learned from his injury which is all about respecting your body.
“There’s a saying that goes you only learn the value of something once you lose it. My injury has helped me realized that I need to take care of my body as best I can, so as not to lose any more matches. This unpleasant experience has helped me understand how important it is to take care of your body, fitness and prevention. These are just some elements that a few years ago I did not pay attention to. I did not see how valuable it is to respect my body until I got injured. I was young and foolish mainly because I thought I could get along just fine.
Unfortunately, such situation happens but it teaches to be more cautious about what your body needs and what you body can do. In the future, this experience will help me avoid other problems.”
On what he misses the most…
“I miss hitting the ball and scoring for my team.”
