Attitude really plays a huge part in volleyball.
If you don’t have the right attitude, prepare for the consequences.
We admit we’ve never really hard much of Cuban-American Yosleyder Cala. According to Wikipedia, he has played in some of the world’s top club teams like Iraklis Thessaloniki (GRE) and Tours VB (FRA) before landing a contract with Poland’s PGE Skra Belchatow for this season.
With the blue eyed Michal Winiarski, opposite turned outside hitter Mariusz Wlazly and the young but talented Aleksandar Atanasijevic on the team, Cala just didn’t have any room to be a starter. Skra’s President has released a short statement in regards to Cala’s Skra contract getting dissolved.
“What’s good for the team, is the most important thing for us. Cala couldn’t stand his position in the team (not being in the starting six), so he left.”
Yikes!
That ego must have been crushed! Hah! JK!
Anyways, we have a vid to share of the 28 year old who has reportedly found a new team in Turkey.
Rumor has it that he’s in talks to paly for Ziraat Bankasi.
One more player is also seeking for work after getting the axed.
Dejan Vincic of Slovenia has also been released by Skra Belchatow. The team has hired Italian setter Dante Boninfante to take his spot. Vincic is not a happy camper at all!
Per Dejan:
“I’ve always feel supported by the president of Skra (Piechocki), but I have never had enough contact with the head coach (Jacek Nawrocki). He did not give me much chances to prove myself and I couldn’t understand his behavior.”
Skra defends its decision by releasing this:
“Dejan could’t get into the first squad, although he helped us during some important games. I appreciate that and I’m grateful for the time he spent with us.”
Well we hope they get to keep their Skra jerseys!
Side Dish: As of press time, Skra is currently ranked 4th in the Polish League after 9 matches.
