Coach Alekno’s squad did it again!

Maxim Mikhaylov, Matt Anderson, Valerio Vermiglio, Yuri Berezhko and Team Zenit Kazan won the 2012 Russian Super Cup in an epic 5 set match versus Lokomotiv NOVOSIBIRSK 3-2 (22:25, 21:25, 25:18, 25:16, 15:10). Mikhaylob led Kazan with 23 points while American outside hitter – who just arrived in Russia recently – fired up his team with 16 points.

“I admire the character of my players. It is already the fourth time in the last four years that we edge Lokomotiv after coming back from two sets down. This sounds like some bad luck for our opponents, but it is certainly good for us” according to Coach Alekno.
