The 29 year old won A LOT OF MEDALS this 2015-2016 season with his club team, Zenit Kazan.
Yesterday, he and his team won the prestigious CEV Champions League crown to defend their title. During the post match press conference, the birthday boy can’t hide how happy he is that they won.
“This team has just won the Champions League, this team has won the Russian Cup, Russian national league and the Russian Supercup if you want to count that. We have been a pretty dominant team and we are prepared to continue to perform at this level. The challenge is represented by the level of the teams who want to beat us. It’s not easy to stay at this level. As you can see even here we struggled today and yesterday. As a team our strength is that we find the right formula to win.”
In case you didn’t know, Matt has renewed his contract with Kazan. The 2016-2017 professional season will be his 5th consecutive year with the richest Russian club team and one of the best club teams in the world.
Matt and Kazan will compete at the 2016 Club World Championship later this year.

We almost forgot to mention that Matt and Team USA have qualified for the 2016 Olympics after winning the FIVB World Cup last year. Matt was awarded as the tournament MVP.
