The Queen of Japanese Volleyball is loving Europe & therefore she remains in Turkey for the 2013/2014 season.
BUT…
She will now be playing for Galatasaray coached by Italian Massimo Barbolini.
Rumor has it that Galatasay is trying to get rid of the old players sign up some of the world’s best players like Colombian superstar Madelynne Montaño, French middle blocker Christina Bauer and Bulgarian Dobriana Rabadzhieva.
The team has not confirmed any of these transfers but Saori’s case appears to be officially revealed in the coming days.
Some of the players leaving Galatasaray include Rosir Calderon (CUB), Simona Gioli (ITA), Brizitka Molnar (SRB) and Yuko Sano (JPN), who has transfered to Swiss club team Volero Zurich.
Eleonora Lo Bianco, the setter, is still under contract but might be released.
Back to Saori…
All we can say is that she might have had a very successful season with Vakifbank BUT we didn’t really get to see a lot of Saori. She was mainly used as a serving specialist during the Turkish League and even in the most prestigious Champions League. She might have played a small part but at least she made an appearance for 3 rotations.
The bottom line is that we hope she gets to spread her wings with her new team.
Maybe she can have a better connection with Lo Bianco?
Thoughts?
