Since winning the MVP and the Gold Medal at the 2010 World Champs, Murilo has pretty much won every single award in Brazil, ie Brazil’s 2010 Athlete Of The Year. So a couple of weeks ago, Murilo achieved another victory he could add to his blooming resume: The 2010/2011 Superliga Crown!
Murilo led his club team Sesi-SP to win the Superliga title for the first time in history. They defeated Sada Cruzeiro in 4 sets (25-19, 19-25, 27-25, 25-17).
Best Player Awards:
Best Server: Sidão (Sesi)
Best Spiker: Wallace (Sesi)
Best Blocker: Acácio (Sada)
Best Reciever: Murilo (Sesi): How sweet of Jaqueline to interrupt deliver the award to her husband!
Best Defense: Serginho (Sesi)
Best Setter: William (Sada)
MVP of the Finals: Murilo (Sesi): Since he already won too many awards for himself, Murilo decided to share his MVP award to his teammate, Vinni, who played great in the Final Match. Vinni is going to be a father very soon. Awwww Murilo is such a player with character. If we were there maybe he would’ve given his award to us. LOL! Kidding!
It’s been a great season with a lot of great matches and a few controversies, but we’d like to thank and congratulate every team, every player and the CBV!
Sesi’s coach Giovane is definitely the next in line to coach the Brazilian National Team when Coach Rezende retires. Murilo is already endorsing him.
Can’t wait for next season!
Side Dish: Giba & Gustavo have already started training for the international season a couple of weeks ago. Marlon, John Paul Bravo, Mario Junior, Lucas & Leandro Vissotto will rejoin the team on May 2nd. Theo, Serginho, Sidao, Wallace, Thiago Alves and Murilo will join the group in Rio De Janeiro on May 8th. Train hard BBs!
