We miss Leila Barros!
Thank G we found this video of Leila sharing about her family life with beach player, Emanuel, and her first baby. How Sweet! We don’t understand what they’re saying but Leila looks gorgeous as ever and she appears very happy being a mom and a wife. We hope she’d give beach volleyball another try – why not right?
In case you didn’t know, Leila tried out for the 2004 Athens Olympics but she wasn’t able to convince Coach Guimaraes and Bia (where is she now?) took her spot instead. Leila made it to the 2004 Grand Prix roster but was eventually dropped before the Final Round.
She started playing beach volleyball after the 2000 & 2004 Olympics but didn’t find much success. Leila was named as the “Most Improved Beach Player” in 2006 by the FIVB.
Since her unofficial retirement, the 2 time Olympic Bronze medalist has been invited as a guest commentator on volleyball related events. Leila gave birth last year and became a mother for the first time with Emanuel – a successful beach player.
We miss Leila! We love Leila! During her time, she was definitely the most charismatic player fans from all over the world admired. Asia and the Philippines hold a special place for Leila in their hearts.
