They won! They won! We knew it! We knew it!
The most publicized club team this season from Turkey has won the 2010/2011 Turkish Cup behind the brilliant performances of Cuban-turned-Italian Leonel Marshall and Serbian superstar Ivan Miljkovic.
Ivan, Leonel and Team Fenerbahce demolished Team Arkas Izmir aka 2010/2011 Turkish Cup Champion by winning 3 straight matches in a best of five finals.
Results & Stats: Game 1 Game 2 Game 3
In case you didn’t know, Fenerbahce struggled earlier in the season. The Turkish team from Istanbul failed to qualify to advance to the Playoffs of the Champions League, replaced the coach with Daniel Castellani & even had to deal with Ivan’s sudden changed of heart when he wanted to leave the team to play in Italy due to conflict.
But these forgettable moments are all behind them now & that’s all that matters. They can finally call themselves Champions! Winning the league gives the team a spot in the 2011/2012 edition of the Champions League which we hope will give them the opportunity to redeem themselves.
