Why not? Maybe he’s destined to coach IRAN since 4 letters from his last name “pRANdI” can form the word “IRAN”. J-Kidding!
Former Bulgarian coach, Silvano Prandi, is in talks to be the new foreign coach of Iran’s men’s volleyball team. As a matter of fact, Silvano was invited by the Iranian Federation last week to check out the country and their volleyball program (most likely these were the reasons why he went there). With his experience, we’re confident that Mr. Prandi can make a difference & can mold a stronger team in the 2011 World Cup – if Iran qualifies.

When he was still coaching Bulgaria, he led Matey Kaziyski and team to win a bronze medal at the 2009 European Championship. A year after that, Bulgaria’s 7th placed finish at the World Championship did not please the Federation and so Prandi got the pink slip.
At least it didn’t take him forever to find a new job. Right? Silvano is very interested to take the coaching position in Iran. “At the moment I am not coaching any team and do not have any obligations to any team. I am fully ready for accepting coaching of Iran’s national team.” he says during a press conference.
Take it! Take it! Take it Coach!
Iran is now one of the strongest Asian teams but our Iranian BBs still need a lot of work to compete against the Europeans and teams from the Americas.
We’re not sure if he speaks the Iranian language but the great thing is volleyball uses a unique language which we can’t explain nor define. Right?
Good luck coach and congratulations in advance!
