USA setter, Brian Thornton, has reportedly signed on to play for Jastrzebski Wegiel in the 2011/2012 season of the Polish League. Thornie will join his fellow Team USA teammate Russell Holmes together with 2011 World League bronze medalists Zbigniew Bartman and possibly Michal Kubiak (another club team claims he has an active contract with them).
In case you didn’t know, Brian Thornton made his international debut with Team USA this year. Surprisingly, he was the starting setter during the World League. Brian’s talent was instrumental in helping his team beat Brazil twice during the Intercontinental Round.
Last season, he played for Chaumont – a B Team in the French League.
