Stacy says: “What an honor,” Sykora said. “First and foremost, I would like to thank USA Volleyball for putting up with me all of these years. I honestly believe that individual awards can never be achieved without a great support system. I have been fortunate enough to have had great teammates, coaches, family and friends aside me down this long journey of a career. I feel very honored to be named USA Volleyball SportsWoman of the Year. Thank you very much.”

We knew she’d win the title! She deserved/deserves this TITLE! Stacy played amazing volleyball during the 2010 Grand Prix and also in Japan for the 201 World Champs. Also, Stacy is enjoying a great season so far in the Brazilian League with Volei Futuro.
You go girl! Milk it!
Side Dish: Honestly, we thought Destinee Hooker would win this award. We bet she was one of the nominees but just didn’t have the votes yet. Also, we kind of expected Hooker to win the 2010 Grand Prix MVP award but the award went to the great Foluke Akinradewo. Zing Zing Zing!
