Thanks for the tip Erik!

2016 Olympic bronze medalist and one of the world’s best liberos Erik Shoji recently shared a libero tip on Instagram and this is what he said:

🗣 Libero Tip of the Day: Angles FTW ✍🏻@erikshoji: An old coach of mine used to tell me, "The volleyball knows angles." … What he meant was that if you set your platform at the right angle to target the ball will more often than not go in the right direction. … From junior volleyball all the way until now this rule still applies. Even with harder hits and harder serves, the volleyball still knows angles. … What goes through my head before a server serves? An old coach of mine used to tell me, “The volleyball knows angles.” What he meant was that if you set your platform at the right angle to target the ball will more often than not go in the right direction. From junior volleyball all the way until now this rule still applies. Even with harder hits and harder serves, the volleyball still knows angles.

What goes through my head before a server serves? I tell myself to have an early solid platform, create a great angle to target, and to hold it even after contact. Remember that the volleyball knows the angles!
