Five time Olympian and 2 time Olympic silver medalist Danielle Scott-Arruda has lost everything due to the flooding in Louisiana which has affected thousands of people. In this article by presstelegram.com, the former middle blocker reveals she has lost all of her possessions.
“It was significant flooding; it was like a hurricane without the wind. It was very unexpected — my house ended up with five feet of water in it, even higher than that in the back storage room. I lost all my possessions, all my daughter’s possessions, my memorabilia, it’s all gone. My mom passed a year ago and so we lost all of her things, all my daughter’s toys and dresses. It’s really hard. We do have insurance but it’s going to be months for the whole process.” -Danielle
Danielle’s volleyball family like Kim Glass, Jen Joines Tamas, Coach Hugh McCutcheon, Lindsey Berg, Kristin Hildebrand, Ogonna Nnamanni, Nicole Fawcett, Robyn Ahmow-Santos, April Ross, Donald Suxho, Lauren Gibbemeyer, Dustin Watten and Tara Cross-Battle have donated to the GoFundme page created by Tayyiba Haneef Par who describes Dani as “one of the most caring, giving and inspirational people I have ever met.”
