We hope more and more teams will join and promote a campaign like this.

DRESDNER SC have started their adventure in the 2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women with two thrilling tie-break wins over Russia’s giant Dinamo MOSCOW and Finland’s rookie LP SALO. Their team captain, Dutch libero Myrthe Schoot, delivered a couple of excellent performances to support her team on their way to this great achievement.
However, Schoot is leaving her mark also off the Volleyball court. She is currently one of the main ambassadors of an anti-racism campaign which is being carried out under the slogan “VorBILDER – Sports and Politics united against extremism”.
This is the most important campaign ever promoted by Germany’s Ministry of Interior Affairs against racism, intolerance and any other form of discrimination. The campaign goes along with a photo exhibition. Angelika and Bernd Kohlmeier have indeed captured sportspeople and politicians as they are talking about fair play, respect and human dignity. Schoot is featured on one of those photos together with Mr Stanislaw Tillich, the Minister President of the Free State of Saxony (see picture).
“I am happy to be part of this exhibition,” Schoot says. “It shows that it is important for our society to be tolerant and to act respectfully. I got to know and love Germany for being an open-minded, tolerant and lovely country. We have to be confident when we face those who do not show respect for democracy and human dignity. What is most important is that we have to face them being united.”
The exhibition has already stopped in Berlin and Braunschweig and the next stop will be in the city of Bautzen from January 26 through February 7, 2015.
