Take note, it’s indoor!
On November 5th and 6th, 2011, the world’s largest indoor beach v0lleyball facility aka SEFA Beach Center will officially open in Gothenburg, Sweden. Germany’s Jonas Reckermann (2009 world champion and 2011 European champion) together with Spain’s 2004 Athens Olympic Games silver medallist Javier Bosma will be part of the opening ceremony.
What about us? Where’s our invitation? LOL!
SEFA CEO Ulf Norman says…
“It’s a dream coming true for GBC but I believe that this is just the beginning of a new era for beach volleyball in Sweden and hopefully also internationally,” he said. “It’s been lots and lots of hard work. And now, being just weeks away from the dream being true, it feels fantastic. Over the years beach volleyball in Gothenburg has developed dramatically and this huge investment is only possible due to a constant increase in interest for the sport from new players, business clients, sponsors and fans.”
Jonas Reckermann says…
“It’s a great honour for me being invited to this opening event. We have some nice indoor beach centres in Germany, but not this big.”
Anyways, the 1,700 plus more members of the world class facility can enjoy the 16 courts, a restaurant, a cafe, a relax and a gym. If we ever get to visit Sweden, we will for sure plan on checking this amazing facility.
For now, we can enjoy these pics…
It looks like it’s going to be an EPIC world class indoor beach volleyball facility!
We can’t wait to see the finished product!
Anyone from Sweden who wants to take us to this complex someday?
