The 13 year old son of Marcos Milinkovic, one of Argentina’s best players of all time, has passed away after drowning in Croatia.
Luka, who was vacationing with his mother and sister, drowned in the Adriatic Sea when he decided to swim a little more while the rest left to play basketball. Less than an hour later, someone suspected of seeing a body in the water. Eventually, Luka’s body was retrieved and several attempts to save him failed.
Marcos’ son had this dream of following his dad’s footsteps. At a very young age, he was already a member of a local club and wanted to play as an outside hitter.
Marcos was reportedly in Cordoba, Argentina when he received the tragic news.
Athletes, fans and friends have posted words of love and support on social media including head coach of Argentina’s men’s team Javier Webber and setter Luciano De Cecco.
