Gavin’s 50 Answers
1. What time did you get up this morning? I was up at 8am.
2. How do you like your steak? Rare or medium rare
3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? Dumb and dumber 2, it was awesome.
4. What is your favorite TV show? Tough one, probably the Big Bang Theory
5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? Besides a hut on a beach in Thailand, Canada, I love my country really.
6. What did you have for breakfast? Breakfast today and well almost every day is Oats with honey and crushed walnuts and almonds, only on days off do I really do anything different.
7. What is your favorite cuisine? I don’t know that I have a favorite; I like food in general and like to mix it up when I can.
8. What foods do you dislike? .Tomatoes, I hate them, they are useless to me… have never and probably will never like them.
9. Favorite place to eat? Again a tough question as i like to mix it up, I really like to go for Pho when i am in Canada.
10. Favorite dressing? Usually just some olive oil and salt haha, maybe ranch for sandwiches, that’s what I get when I go to subway.
11.What kind of vehicle do you drive? Right now i have a Volkswagen Polo here in Turkey, but my baby back home is a 2010 Camaro SS i wish i could bring it everywhere with me.
12. What are your favorite clothes? Probably Lululemon, its super comfortable, looks nice, and well actually fits my long frame.
13. Where would you visit if you had the chance? Sydney, Puerto Rico or Maui? Probably Maui, I have never been, though I have only been to the others for volleyball and didn’t see anything, wait… can i go to all 3??
14. Cup 1/2 empty or 1/2 full? Half full, unless I am having a bad day, then its likely half empty.
15. Where would you want to retire? Preferably back home in Saskatchewan where my family is, I spend too much time away from them, but preferably a cabin at a lake in Saskatchewan.
16. Favorite time of day? I am going to base this on my days off, favorite part is around 11 or noon, because usually I have slept in, I’m on the couch in sweats with coffee watching TV and have made a big breakfast (pancakes, eggs, bacon)
17. Where were you born? I was born in Grande Prarie Alberta, but I wasn’t there long.
18. What is your favorite sport to watch? NFL Football
19. Describe Canada’s Men’s Volleyball Team in 3 words? Family, Heart, and Passion. We all love being there and competing.
20. Describe Gavin in 3 words? Tall, Goofy, friendly? i don’t know haha…
21. Describe Volleyball in 3 words? Team, exciting, life. Come on man you gotta give me more than 3 words to describe this sport…
22. Describe Turkey in 3 words? Crazy, baklava, beautiful
23. Are you a morning person or a night person? More of a night person i suppose, but i have no problems getting up early, if i have a day off i am sure to sleep in though.
24. Do you have any pets? No but i want a puppy real bad, hard with this life but ill see if i can make it happen.
25. Any new and exciting news you’d like to share? Nothing that i can think of at the moment… sorry haha
26. What did you want to be when you were little? I don’t even remember… probably a ninja turtle, every kid wanted to be a ninja turtle… come to think of it i still kinda do…
27. What is your best childhood memory? Being at my aunts farm with the whole family chasing and catching rabbits in fishing nets because they got out of their pen.
28. Are you a cat or dog person? Dog, i don’t really like cats, some are okay but i think deep inside they are all evil.
29. Do you have a girlfriend? I don’t, thats probably why i want a dog, i once told a teammate i would rather have a dog than a girlfriend… i guess a girlfriend wouldn’t be so bad though…
30. Always wear your seat belt? Pretty much yea, unless i am just going around the block, or am in the back of a Turkish cab where i can’t put it on…
31. Been in a car accident? Too many of them actually, but only at fault once and it was just a fender bender.
32. Any pet peeves? People who chew loud or with their mouths open, i can’t handle that, like at all.
33. Favorite Pizza? Peperoni, bacon, extra black olives, green and red pepper, ah let’s just say loaded with lots of olives.
34. Favorite Flower? I don’t have one, but let’s say sunflower because without them we wouldn’t be able to eat sunflower seeds?
35. Favorite ice cream? Mint Oreo, i don’t know if thats a flavour or just a type of blizzard, if not i am a sucker for good vanilla.
36. Favorite fast food restaurant? one i don’t eat a lot of fast food, subway or 5 guys burgers and fries
37. How many times did you fail your driver’s test? Just once, and I got screwed I swear!!
38. From whom did you get your last email? From our team travel agent, booking flights for mom to come visit.
39. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card? Best buy, or some other electronics shop, can i increase my limit and then max it out?
40. Do anything spontaneous lately? I bought a new tv for my apartment in turkey, i figure i spend enough time watching it i might as well make it a good one.
41. At what age in life you feel/felt the happiest? I really don’t have an answer for that question, i have led a pretty happy good life, maybe as a kid before school when all you do is play all day??
42. Eat Broccoli? Sure do, love it, i love vegetables actually.
43. What was your favorite vacation? Camping with the family if that counts, if not i have only taken one, to Mexico with a buddy, it was also great.
44. Last person you went out to dinner with? I went with a group of people on the weekend.
45. What are you listening to right now? Doo Doo by Troy Ave, it just popped up on Spotify, but a pretty happy fun song, I dig it.
46. What is your favorite color? Baby Blue, though i don’t really have much in that color sadly.
47. How many tattoos do you have? Just one, its Korean, says Commitment Perseverance Passion, was something my coach preached out there, seemed fitting to get it before I left.
48. Name a famous person dead or alive you’d want to spend a day with? Dan Bilzerian for nothing more than to see what an actual day in the life of that guy is like, plus I like his motto, “I want enough money to do whatever I want every day” I wonder what that day would look like…
49. Name 3 things you must have when you’re traveling with the National Team? Phone, headphones, laptop.
50. Coffee Drinker? Yeah, probably way too much, I would say I wish I drank less… but I really don’t.
