The 2014 Volleywood Bachelors

It’s LOVE WEEK on Volleywood and we proudly present our 2014 Volleywood Bachelors!

This year’s list includes Canada’s Dallas Soonias, American opposite hitter Murphy Troy & setter Kawika Shoji, Croatian Sitting Volleyball Player Ivan Ćosić, Puerto Rican setter Edgardo Goas, Germany’s Denis Kaliberda and many more!

Things I’m passionate about? I’m probably too passionate about food. It seriously makes me so happy, mind you I can’t really make much more than guacamole. That and music, I don’t understand how someone can be not passionate about music, it has the power to alter your mood like a drug. Its basically ear crack.

My ideal first date would be well it all depends on the woman I’m taking out because I want to do something that will interest her as well myself. But since it’s a mystery woman I’m gonna say: we start off going to a comedy club and watching someone brilliant for an hour or so, then we go for a late dinner at some tiny hole in the wall mom and pop place, cuz they almost always have amazing recipes from the old country, then we’d finish the evening off going to see The Roots live, cuz they’re probably the greatest live show on planet earth.

My ideal partner is someone patient. I screw up a lot. Also if she has a sharp wit, that would be just super. I like a woman who I can tease and will have something chambered to throw right back at me.

Dating deal breakers? Smoking. Also Furious texting during a first date. I’m for sure too insecure to think that you’re not texting your friends or other dudes saying how brutal this guy is.

My dream vacation? I’ve never been to NYC and I’m sure I could spend weeks exploring so it have to be some time there.

On weekends you’ll find me cooling on the couch probably, I train all week and I’m old and tired.

A talent that may surprise you is that I do lots of obscure things that interest me, but I’m not sure I’d call any of it a talent.

What I put on my burger? All the normal stuff plus that bacon cheese avocado hookup.

I was most impressed on a date when I’m not flop sweating. Honestly I don’t go on a lot of dates so I’m not sure what I’d be impressed with anymore.

In high school I was learning things that weren’t in the books.

My guilty indulgence? Chocolate. As soon as I quit playing I’m going to be a fat mess, so deal with that.

In my past life I was probably a tree bark or something. Why does it have to be something wild right?

The actor that should play my life story is Kristen Wiig.

Favourite ice cream flavour? Cookies n’ cream.

To relieve stress, I listen to music, take a long shower, stretch, talk it out with someone I trust.

If I found a genie in a bottle my three wishes would be…Unrealistic.

Things I’m passionate about are volleyball, my girlfriend, good pizza and good coffee.

My ideal first date would be a cooking class.

My ideal partner is my girlfriend, Blair. She’s smart, beautiful, knows how to cook, and she makes me laugh every day.

Dating deal breakers? Cigarettes, Justin Bieber fans, Anyone who prefers oatmeal raisin to chocolate chip cookies

I’m not bragging but I’m really good at making breakfast (pancakes and coffee included).

Three artists you’ll find on my iPod are Mumford and Sons, Hootie and the Blowfish, Zac Brown Band.

My dream vacation is margaritas on the beach in Mexico with chips and guacamole.

On weekends you’ll find me trying a new restaurant, visiting a new city, or being outdoors.

A talent that may surprise you? In college I was a physics major, and also really good at karaoke.

What I put on my burger? In N Out Double Double, raw onion, add pickles.

I was most impressed on a date when whenever my girlfriend cooks. From ribs, to mussels, to a 5-course French meal, she does it all.

In high school I was playing sports all the time.

My guilty indulgence is Fresh French baguettes with salted butter. Mmmmm…

In my past life I was a dog. I can sleep for long periods of time followed by extreme bouts of activity.

If my life were a genre of movie it would be Adventure.

The actor that should play my life story is Jason Segel. Tall, funny, and I love his movies.

Favourite ice cream flavour? Pistachio.

To relieve stress, I play some loud music and get a good workout in.

If I found a genie in a bottle my three wishes would be:

1) A professional volleyball league in the US as big as the NFL
2) The ability to teleport
3) A magical food distributor, so I could feed starving people (and myself). This power would be enhanced by my teleportation, of course.

Things I’m passionate about are Finger painting, Coffee, the beach, lifting heavy things up and setting them down repeatedly, Chipotle, and smoothies.

My ideal first date would be Racing Big Wheel trikes down Lombard street in San Francisco.

My ideal partner is someone funny, confident, open minded, ambitious, and athletic.

Dating deal breakers? Non-coffee drinkers, messy house/room, smoking.

I’m not bragging but I read R.L. Stine’s GooseBumps books as a kid and not once was I scared; same with Nickelodeon’s TV show “Are you afraid of the dark”.

Three artists you’ll find on my iPod are Wiz Khalifa, Eminem, Imagination Dragons.

My dream vacation? Taking a private jet across the world and every week taking part in a different countries most famous activity/tradition. ie (Running with the bulls, skiing in Swiss Alps, Octoberfest, etc)

On weekends you’ll find me… You wont, I’m very good at hide and go seek. The beach though.

A talent that may surprise you I can Crip/C walk and battle dance.

What I put on my burger? Double meat med. rare, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomatoe, grilled onion, cheese, and mustard.

I was most impressed on a date when someone finally agreed to one and showed up.

In high school I was a skinny skateboarder who ate taquitos and quesadillas everyday.

My guilty indulgence is…mixing multiple pre workout powders together, brownies, cookies, real world/road rules challenges.

In my past life I was a Wolf.

If my life were a genre of movie it would be a sport-comedy mixed with a crime thriller

The actor that should play my life story is Jason Statham.

Favourite ice cream flavour? Double fudge brownie.

To relieve stress? 4 scoops of C4 and gym time.

If I found a genie in a bottle my three wishes would be to never grow old, to be able to teleportat and set the genie free.

Things I’m passionate about…volleyball, golf, family, friends, the beach, and God.

My ideal first date would be…anywhere in Hawaii and with good food!

My ideal partner is my fiancee of course!

I’m not bragging but I have white teeth and a nice American smile that my Berlin teammates always tease me about.

My dream vacation? I don’t need dream vacations when my home is Hawaii!

On weekends you’ll find me reading, golfing, at the beach.

A talent that may surprise you I danced Hawaiian hula for 7 years.

What I put on my burger? Cheese and lots of veggies.

I was most impressed on a date when my fiance did a head stand while on a wave surfing.

In high school I was a dork! I still am!

My guilty indulgence is chocolate chip cookies.

In my past life I was a professional golfer.

If my life were a genre of movie it would be romantic comedy. 50 First Dates is my favorite!

The actor that should play my life story is Ben Affleck because some people think I look like hi.

To relieve stress, I pray.

If I found a genie in a bottle my three wishes would be…health, happiness, and endless time with family.

My ideal first date would be something fun and outdoors. mini golf! the beach! something we can both have fun doing. but if its something competitive don’t bet on me letting her win at all.

My ideal partner is confident, trusting, active, intelligent, fun, independent, loving, weird & outgoing. I could go on and on.

My dream vacation is somewhere warm, with beaches and palm trees.

On weekends you’ll find me at home relaxing with some video games or maybe at a spa getting a massage, hanging in the sauna or just reading a good book.

I pride myself on cooking some great food. I love being able to travel the globe and experience some amazing cultures but i also love experiencing some exotic food. you never know what you might like and if you’ll ever have the chance to try it again.

What I put on my burger. Buffalo meat, onion, tomato, lettuce, pickles, ketchup, little bit of mustard, maybe even an egg!!!

I was most impressed on a date when the girl beat me at go carts…I hate to lose!

In high school i was the super jock, loved playing every sport the school would allow me to. my senior year i went from basketball practice 1:30 to 3:30, straight to football practice 3:30 to 6:30 then volleyball 7:30 to 9:30. and loved every second of it.

My guilty indulgence is pastries. every country has their own amazing pastry. donuts. waffles. anything! I’m a sucker!

In my past life I had to be some sort of wildlife scientist. I am a huge nature nerd. tied fly fishing flies as a kid, volunteered at the marine biology center, volunteered at the natural history museum. i would have love to get a degree in some sort of biology but because being a student athlete was so hard for me I didn’t follow up. who knows, maybe ill go back to school.

If my life were a genre of movie it would be a sports comedy. I’m a pretty easy going guy when it comes to sports. i love to joke around and make things fun and be in the moment on the court. but of course i have my serious side which all my teammates experience and sometimes isn’t that fun for other other people but i am very driven so don’t get in the way of where I’m going.

Actor to play my life story would probably be Will Smith. Because hes the man.

My favorite ice cream flavor is cookies n cream!

To relieve stress I work out at USA volleyball we have a huge construction tire that we get to try and pound through the ground with a massive hammer. I just think about something that has been pissing you off or someone and release all that negative energy on the tire. It’s heaven.

If I found a genie my three wishes would be live a healthy life with my family, have a long career and play for the LA Lakers.

In high school I was addicted to World of Warcraft.

To relieve stress I like to take a bath.

If I found a genie in a bottle my three wishes would be…I would have no wishes, i am really happy with my life right now.

Things I’m passionate about are Sports (of course), animals, music, nature.

My ideal first date would be at home, cooked dinner and some good wine to go with the food. Something casual and relaxing

My ideal partner is a good, smart girl ready for compromises.

In high school I was the only guy with long hair in my generation (won’t ever do that again).

My guilty indulgence is spending money (clothes, music gear, travelling, etc.).

In my past life I was a bear.

Favourite ice cream flavour? Any kind. I’m not picky & I love it too much to be picky about it.

To relieve stress, I play the guitar and I play with my dog Nessie or hang out with my friends.

If I found a genie in a bottle my three wishes would be get me some coffee, annihilate racism and stop Celine Dion from ever singing again!

I am passionate about sport of course, movies, reading, traveling, wildlife, animals.

My ideal first date would be on the top of the Eiffel tower with the best french wine.

I’m not bragging but i am one of the most handsome men I know.

I was most impressed on a date when she came out more beautiful than I expected.

In high school I was already training and playing volleyball.

My guilty indulgence? Spa, massage & traveling.

In my past life I was a king.

If my life were a genre of movie it would be sport, adventure & comedy.

The actor that should play my life story is Russell Crowe.

Favorite ice cream? Vanilla and White Chocolate.

To relieve stress, I listen to music, meditate, go to the movies or go to a club.

If I found a genie in a bottle my three wishes would be…transfer to one of the best clubs in the world, everything to stay the same with me and my loved ones living happy, safe, successful and loved & finally a red Ferrari 458 Italia or the new 2014 Porsche 911 convertible.

Things I’m passionate about? definitely sneakers and music at times.

My ideal first date would be a relaxing dinner with a few drinks on the side.

My ideal partner is Bar Refaeli.
