We proudly present Canada’s most complete player, Freddie Winters!
Yay!
After a very busy international season which includes a silver medal at the NORCECA Olympic Qualification Tournament and 4 World League Intercontinental Rounds, the 29 year old outside hitter took some time to answer these funny and short fill in the blank questions we sent to him.
One of my fondest volleyball memories is …
Beating Brazil in Toronto a few weeks ago.
My hidden talent is …
Ballin’ (Playing Basketball)
I instantly feel better when …
I cop a new pair of shoes.
My go-to stress reliever is …
Online shoe shopping and blogging about whatever I want.
I hate it when …
People play on my phone.
The best volleyball advice I ever got was …
Left is right, right is wrong.
The hardest spike I’ve ever blocked was by …
Russia’s Maxim Mikhaylov. It wasn’t a block but a dig with my face in practice.
If I were a superhero, my power would be …
X-ray vision
The funniest player on Team Canada is …
Before I serve the ball, I think of …
Toss the ball into the court.
My volleyball shoes smell like …
Doody (slang term for feces)
With a left handed teammate, Dallas Soonias, we also asked Freddie why lefties rock and he said that they rock because “they have the uncanny ability to hit sharp cross court“.
Thank you Freddie for the time and we wish you and Team Canada the best!
In case you didn’t know, Canada has qualified for the 2013 World League after finishing 3rd in their Pool. Yay!
