She was cut from the 2012 Olympic team yet she’s not giving up…
Brazilian middle blocker, Juciely Cristina da Silva aka Juciely, has not given up on her dream to compete in the Olympics, ie 2016 Rio Games.
Knowing that she’s one of the Superliga’s top middle blockers, she has what it takes to play for Brazil in front of their fans 4 years from now.
Juciely on her Olympic Dream…
“If the opportunity arises and I can be there, it would be great. This is my big dream! I was very sad to be out of London. To compete in the Olympics is the dream of every athlete. The choice was made and it was the best. There were the 12 that should be and they deserved it. Adenízia was better at that time and the selection was good. I really was happy for their success, it thrilled me and I felt a little like I was with them there.”
At least she’s not bitter on getting cut from the team! Unlike that other player who is currently playing in Turkey. Hah! Just Kidding!
If she continues to improve her game, then no doubt we’re going to see her at the Rio Games. It’s still a long way to go but we admire her determination to succeed.
Fabiana Claudino is still unsure of playing her 4th Olympic Games. In case the great Fabiana retires, then Juciely has what it takes to take her spot together with Thaisa and Adenizia.
We repeat, it’s still 4 years from now and a lot can happen.
Good luck Juciely! Just keep working hard and Coach Guimaraes your dreams will take you there!
