After losing the 2011 World League crown to Russia, Coach Rezende is pushing his team to work harder.
Giba, Murilo, Bruno, Dante and Team are back in the gym to prepare for the upcoming South American Championship from September 19th-25th. The top 2 teams from this tournament will qualify for the 2011 World Cup – the first 2012 Olympic Qualifying event.
Our Brazilian BBs train at Aryzao, the Brazilian Volleyball Development Center, in Saquarema. The following players complete Coach Rez’s roster: Bruno and Marlon (setters),Leandro Vissotto, Theo and Wallace (opposite hitters), Gustavo, Rodrigao, Lucas and Sidao (middle blockers), Giba, Murilo, Dante and Joao Paulo Bravo (outside hitters) and Sergio (libero).
Brazil’s roster has always been solid and deep. The only major competition they’d face at the South American Champs would be Facundo Conte and Argentina – who finished 4th at the 2011 World League.
How come Raphael never gets to play for Brazil? We think he has what it takes to increase Brazil’s chances of winning just like what he’s done and he does for Italian club team, Trentino.
Side Dish: Brazil will host a series of friendly matches against Germany and Japan on August 27th and 28th.
