Once a Yellow Angel, Always a Yellow Angel!
Croatia’s Natasa Osmokrovic received an unforgettable surprise from Fans when she returned to Turkey to play against her former club team, Fenerbahce Universal. In case you didn’t know, the legendary Osmokrovic transferred to Azerbaijan’s top team Rabita Baku after a few seasons in Turkey.
Luckily, we have our friend Deniz to share the moment.
“Fenerbahce Bayan Voleybol page presented this statue to Nati Osmokrovic on December 15th before the match between Fenerbahce Universal and Rabita Baku.
Before she left Turkey, she was also given a compact disc consisting of her pictures and videos along with messages from Fenerbahce fans. She told my friend that she cried when she watched the CD and she was thankful for everything Fenerbahce fans had done for her. My friend says that she recognized him right away and she got emotional when she saw the statue.
We have used this motto many times: Once a yellow angel always a yellow angel. It was really nice seeing her in Istanbul again though she was wearing a different uniform.”

As a side note, we’ve been a fan of Nati when she was still known as Natasa Leto. We saw her superb performance against China at the 2000 Olympics. Who could forget her deadly spike that almost knocked out Li Yan?
If Team USA has the great Logan Tom, then Croatia has the one and only Natasa Osmokrovic.
