2010 World Championship…Did you know that Heather Bown (USA) is the only remaining starter from the 2006 World squad? Yup yup yup! 4 years ago, USA was coached by Jenny Lang Ping and had Tayyiba Haneef, Katie Wilkins, Heather Bown, Danielle Scott, Nancy Metcalf, Robyn Ahmow & Sarah Drury as the starters who finished a disappointing 9th.
Luckily, we tried reaching out to Miss HEATher Bown and asked her about the team 4 yrs ago and the current squad now and this is what she said:
“Both 4 years ago and now the team is in a developmental stage. We were and we are still trying to find our way and the correct level and style of play for our program. We’re still attempting to get the most out of each athlete.”
Amen! Very well said girlfriend. We really admire your character on and off the court. Each time we see you play, you’re always smiling and having a great time on the court. We likez it!
