Italian Club Teams are dominating the European leagues once again! Over the weekend, Sisley Treviso and Lube Macerata won their respective leagues: CEV Cup & Chalenge Cup.
Let’s talk about the CEV Cup…
Sisley Treviso VS Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle: 3:1 (19-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-19) & Golden Set 15-11.
In front of their 3,500 fans, Poland’s Zaksa KEDZIERZYN-KOZLE Sisley failed to win the Golden Set against the great Italian team, Sisley Treviso. Italian opposite, Alessandro Fei, fired 20 points to lead his team to victory. Fei wasn’t the only scoring points for Sisley, he was supported by Robert Horstink from The Netherlands with 19 points. Zaksa’s best scorer was Michal Ruciak with 12 points only.
The MVP award was won by Alessandro Fei and Pavel Zagumny from Zaksa.
Wow! That’s Awesome!
In case you didn’t know, the great Sebastian Swiderski plays for Zaksa but he hasn’t been playing since he just returned from an injury.
Now the Challenge Cup…
Lube Banca Marche MACERATA VS Arkas IZMIR : 3:2 (25-22, 20-25, 31-33, 25-19, 15-13).
Serbian middle blocker Marco Podrascanin had 9 solo blocks (19 pts total) to shut down Izmir’s hope of claiming the highly contested match. Macerate is also the home team of Italian Cristian Savani (15 pts) & Igor Omrcen (12 pts) from Croatia who were also instrumental in the victory. As for Izmir, Brazilian Joâo Bravo & Turkish Liberman Agamez (MVP) scored 20 & 26 pts but not enough for the hosting team to clinch the match.
Take note, the Challenge Cup is was the only league missing from Macerata’s collection.
These teams will now return to their countries to play in their respective leagues.

Also, another Italian club team, Trentino, is the top favorite to win the prestigious Champions League Crown which is just less than 2 weeks away. Exciting!
