Kazan Hires An Italian

Good choice!

Russian club team, Zenit Kazan, has officially hired Italian setter, Valerio Vermiglio, for the 2011/2012 season.

Valerio Vermiglio takes over Lloy Ball’s position.

The amount of the contract was not disclosed by both parties but we have a feeling Valerio’s contract is in the $700,000 range. We don’t think he’s worth $1 Million yet just like how much Kazan paid for Lloy Ball who has retired from the sport.

As far as who else Kazan hired, Valerio will be setting 2 talented outside hitters, Reid Priddy (USA) & Yury Berezhko (Russia).

It’s going to be a strong team!

In case you didn’t know, Vermiglio has declined to play for the National Team but we have a feeling he will return just in time for the Olympic qualification.

Have fun in Russia Val!
