Paula’s Breakdown?

PP is having a terrible February and we hope things will get better for her next month. March is just days away. We don’t want her to be stressing out since the Superliga is in it’s crucial stage. Her club team, Volei Futuro, needs her!

The MVP of the 2008 Beijing Olympics is not in her best form yet (in our opinion) since her injury at the 2010 World Grand Prix which prevented her from competing at the World Championship last November.

Anyways, Paula has been playing on and off in the Brazilian League. When she’s on, PP becomes almost unstoppable. But when she’s off, we tend to forget how great she used to be.

Remember this SERVE? It caused a stir in the volleyball world. First of all, no matter how great you are as a player., you still make mistakes and experience terrible days. But this serve from Paula could be the most forgettable serve of her career. Again, great players make mistakes like Paula.

Last week, she got HIT ON THE FACE by this player named Priscila. Good thing Paula and Volei Futuro won this match. Whew!

Then this week she got FACIALED again by Soninha. Paula’s team lost in 4 sets. You can watch the full match by clicking HERE.

And in the same match, she yelled and cursed at her setter, Ana. We have a few things to say about Paula’s rage during this match. First of all, Ana is not the main setter for Volei Futuro. She took over after American Alisha Glass injured her hand. Glass is expected to return within a month.

Anyways…

We’re not quite sure on the issues between Paula and Ana, but as the most experienced player on the team we expect Paula to show more patience for her teammates especially on Ana. Ana has a lot of responsibilities on her shoulder at the moment and she needs the guidance of her most decorated teammates, like Paula, Fabiana and Sykora. According to our translator, Paula was cursing and yelling at Ana (see video below as the proof). The argument didn’t end on the court for PP and Ana, they discussed things in the locker room.

Well we hope they resolved their issues behind closed doors. Negative energy on the court does not help. Agree?

We also read from a source that Paula made fun of her coach when she was subbed out from a previous match. The coach obviously didn’t like what PP did and never put her back on the court. Yikes!

Well we love Paula! No one is perfect. We all make mistakes. We hope that she will get over this forgettable moments and embrace happy thoughts and a more positive approach with her teammates.
