2016 Olympic gold medalist and one of China’s biggest volleyball stars, Hui Ruoqi, has retired from competing due to health reasons. In case you didn’t know, the 26 year old had surgery 2 years ago to cardiac arrhythmia problem.
With the best medical team to help her recovery, she was able to compete at the 2016 Olympics and ended the tourney with a gold medal around her neck.
In a previous interview, Hui shared a very important lesson when she found out about her diagnosis.
“In my sports life and in my own life I was sad about this for a long time but my parents have taught me many things and I think my life is not all volleyball.”
Hui has NOT officially confirmed the news BUT our source insists that she’s done playing.
