After 10 years, another Iranian player will play in one of the world’s most prestigious professional leagues. He is none other than 21 year old outside hitter Mohammadjavad Manavinezhad. The news was made official by his agent a few days ago by his agent.
Manavinezhad will be on the same side of the net as Greek player Mitar Djuric, 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Thomas Jaeschke from Team USA and two time Olympic medalist Emanuele Birarelli.
The former player of Iranian club team, Paykan, recently competed in the 2017 FIVB World League with the national team and finished 11th.
The last Iranian player to play in Italy was Benham Mahmoudi, the brother of the now retired Shahram Mahmoudi, during the 2006-2007 season with Perugia.
