June 6th, 2012 UPDATE:
We have no idea how much pain she had to deal with but we’ve discovered these heartbreaking details on what really happened hours before the tragedy.
Our source says that Giulia committed suicide due to a failed relationship with an Italian coach Lorenzo Micelli who works in Turkey for club team Eczacibasi. It appears that the married coach was going through a difficult time with his wife and was temporarily separated when his affair with Albini started.
Lorenzo met up with Giulia in a hotel in Istanbul to end the relationship.
After leaving the hotel, Albini bid goodbye, drove off and committed suicide.
She left us with a broken heart.
This is tragic.
Condolences to her loved ones, friends and Italian volleyball community.

We repeat…
