It looks like Zaytsev fans in his country will be treated with this special video powered by Red Bull to be released on July 18th.
The Italian star of the 2016 Olympics and one of the world’s most famous volleyball athletes shared a teaser on his IG account.
“Mio padre è stato penso il più forte palleggiatore di tutti i tempi, voleva che io seguissi le sue orme e prendessi il suo posto” racconta lo ‘zar’. “Una volta che entro in campo – spiega – esce fuori l’animale che è in me, perché subentra la sfida, la voglia di dominare l’avversario: odio perdere. L’anima che è in me è l’anima di uno che cerca la vittoria sempre”.
“My father was the strongest setter of all time, he wanted me to follow his footsteps and take his place. Once I get into the field, the animal in me comes out because the challenge takes over, the desire to dominate against my opponents. I hate to lose. The soul that is in me is the soul of the one who always seeks victory.”
Are you sure you’re not from the DC Universe Ivan?
LOLZ!
Kidding!
With such words and DC inspired trailer, we bet it’s a good one!
What’s next for Ivan?
He will rejoin the national team to train for the upcoming World Championship that Italy is co-hosting with Bulgaria in September.
As for his professional career, he has signed on to play for Modena together with American setter Micah Christenson.
In case you missed it, Zaytsev made nationals news over a week ago after he posted an IG pic of his daughter getting vaccination. Some anti-vaccine activists posted some harsh and cruel words on his Instagram and prompted the Italian postal police to trace the cyber bullies.
“I wanted to share this moment as a parent and congratulate my daughter – she smiled during the entire process – as well as reassure other parents. I realize that I’m a public figure and everything I do has consequences, but I didn’t expect this. When it touches me it’s one thing, but when they wish illness for your children then you become very angry.”
As of writing this, Ivan has NOT removed the pic despite the attack.
