Italy’s head coach Blengini recently revealed that there is a POSSIBILITY Ivan Zaytsev and Osmany Juantorena may rejoin the national team this year to compete at the World Championship which will be hosted by Italy.
Blengini is optimistic that Zaytsev and FIPAV will resolver their issue last year in regards to the athlete wearing Adidas despite Mizuno being the main sponsor of the national team.
As for Osmany, Blengini – who lead team Italy to a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics – adds that it Juantorena’s decision to stop playing for Italy after the Olympics. He said that Os had too many commitments in 2017 but he hopes he’d change his mind knowing that Italy will host the World Champs – 2018’s biggest volleyball event.
We really have a good feeling they’ll both come back.
If Zaytsev returns though and plays as an opposite hitter, does this mean Vettori will take the back seat again?
