We support his mission!!!
We know for sure he is capable of achieving his mission to grow the sport of volleyball in his country.
The 2012 Olympic champion was awarded by the CEV as the Male Volleyball Ambassador of the Year. During his speech, the 40 year old Tetyukhin shares his ultimate goal for volleyball.
“As people may know, Volleyball is a very popular sport in Russia but we also face some stiff competition from the likes of soccer, basketball and ice hockey.
I am very motivated to work hard to further grow Volleyball across the whole of Russia. What really matters to me is that the young generations are provided with opportunities to play the game and more in general, to get involved in sport. In this sense being appointed the Volleyball Ambassador of the Year reflects my wish to inspire young people to play the game and grow it even further while focussing on mass participation.”
And as for being a role model…
“I have been playing Volleyball since I was a little child and have spent my entire life in the game. Volleyball is my life and my love. My wish is to be a role model for the youth, especially for the young boys and girls who start playing Volleyball. I would like to find a way to pass my experience on to them. I wish for Volleyball to keep on growing, day after day, at every corner of this world.”
Again, that mission is not impossible.
We support you all the way Sergey!!!
