Marko Ivovic To Miss 2017 Euro Volley

This is just sad.

Serbia’s best outside hitter and 2016 FIVB World League MVP, Marko Ivovic, is going the miss the 2017 European Championship. The reason? He injured his ankle last week during a friendly match.

This is such a huge blow for Serbia which left Coach Nikola Grbic no choice but to convert one of his liberos, Goran Škundrić, as one of the 4 outside hitters.

Serbia is in the Pool A with hosts Poland, Finland and Estonina The biennial tourney is from August 24th – September 3rd.

Serbia last won the European Champs back in 2011.
