In this article released by cev.lu, 2014 World Champion and MVP Kim Hill reveals that Sopot and Gdansk hold a very special place in her heart although she no longer plays professionally in Poland.
Kim made her pro debut during the 2013-2014 season with Atom in Poland and spend the following season in Italy with Novara.
The American outside hitter now plays for Turkish club team, Vakifbank.
Kim’s old team Atom and Vakifbank are in the same pool for the 2015/2016 edition of the prestigious CEV Champions League. Later this week, Atom will host Kim and the Turkish squad.
Hill says…
“I am very excited to come to Sopot to play again.
I have so many wonderful memories from my time here! The biggest ones are those from the relationships I made with teammates and fans and exploring the beautiful cities of Sopot and Gdansk. I was very blessed to be able to play there and I look forward to competing in Ergo Arena again this week.”
She also adds that she would like to have the chance to walk along the sea and go to the centre of Sopot.
“It (Sopot) is such a beautiful city, there is no other place like that.”
Isn’t she lovely?
Good luck to both teams!
In case you didn’t know, Vakifbank’s roster also includes Brazil’s Sheilla Castro, Turkey’s Naz Akyol and Sonsirma Gozde, Dutch players Robin De Kruijf, Lonneke Slöetjes, Anna Buijs and Serbia’s Milena Rasic.
