She was seriously injured almost 3 years ago (exposed fracture of her tibia) and the entire Volleyball World joined forces to pray for her.
The hashtag #FuerzaEve was a trending topic among volleyball fans who could not believe what they saw on video.

The Dominican Republic have been given a huge boost by welcoming back Lisbel Eve Mejia for the NORCECA Olympic Qualifying Tournament that takes place in Lincoln, USA from January 7-9. The 24-year-old wing-spiker returns from a broken leg and will be aiming to rediscover the type of form that earned her the MVP title at the 2015 NORCECA Women’s Champions Cup.
Her road to full recovery was long and we love how she worked hard to get to where she used to be before and that is to play with the National Team. She traveled with the NT this year but didn’t get a lot of playtime at all.
Here’s to hoping she regains her form.
Based on her IG posts, the 24 year old is in a very good place.
We hope to see her and Team DR at the 2016 Olympics. It would be their 2nd consecutive appearance after finishing 5th in London almost 4 years ago.
May Lisvel’s story be an inspiration to all our volleyball brothers and sisters out there who have had serious injuries and thought of giving up volleyball. You need patience and determination to get to where you want to be.
Look at Lisvel, she is just one tournament away from playing in the Olympics.
