After all the reported drama surrounding the team this season, we’re still optimistic for the Cuban team.
Coach Orlando Samuels has revealed his roster for the upcoming Norceca Continental Championship from August 29th – September 3rd, 2011 in Puerto Rico. The top 2 teams will represent Norceca at the 2011 World Cup – the first 2012 Olympic Qualifying tournament.
Simon and Leal are still NOT on the team but setter Raydel Hierrezuelo is back – that’s good news!

Setters: Raydel Hierrezuelo, Yoandri Diaz e Leandro Macias
Opposite: Fernando Hernandez Ramos
Outside Hitters: Wilfredo Leon (capitano), Henry Bell, Dennys de Jesus Hernandez
Middle Blockers: Osmany Camejo, Isbel Mesa, Yassel Perdomo
Liberos: Keibel Gutierrez, Gustavo Leyva
After a disappointing 2011 World League campaign, we know Cuba will play their best to qualify for the World Cup and hopefully for the 2012 Olympics.
We’re happy Raydel is back and we hope Simon and Leal will rejoin the team soon.
