She is doing so well in the Brazilian League this season and we do hope Coach Kiraly gives her another shot.
In an interview released by uol.com, the 2012 Olympic silver medalist reveals that she was disappointed she did not compete with Team USA at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
“Of course I was disappointed but I don’t have control over the call so I wish the best for them. I felt a lot when they lost in the Olympic semis (versus Serbia) and I was happy that they managed to turn it around to win the bronze.”
As for her future goals, the mother of two is taking it one step at a time.
“I am trying to regain my form. I hope that by the end of the season I can go back to being that player (2012). The girls on the team say I’m jumping a lot but honestly I do not know.”
In the said interview, she also has praises for the coaching staff of her club team, Minas, who is helping get back in shape.
Hooker is also eyeing on winning her second Brazilian League crown with her team.
In case you didn’t know, the last time Hooker played for Team USA was during the 2012 Olympics in London. Due to some undisclosed reasons, Coach Kiraly never invited Hooker to be part of the team when he took over.
