Of course Facundo Conte is on the list! Hah!
Argentina’s most complete player is joined by 24 other players who will be cut down to 14 at the start of the 2012 World League. Also, Argentina will compete at the upcoming South American Olympic Qualification and if they win they will fly to London for the Olympics.
Brazil has already qualified so Argentina is pretty much the favorite to join them.
Anyways, here’s Coach Weber’s young but talented roster:
Setters: Luciano De Cecco, Maximiliano Cavanna, Nicolás Uriarte, Demián González
Opposite Hitters: Federico Pereyra, Gustavo Scholtis, Iván Castellani, Federico Martina
Middle Blockers: Sebastián Solé, Pablo Crer, Gabriel Arroyo, Martín Blanco Costa, Maximiliano Gauna, Guido Romanutti
Outside Hitters: Facundo Conte, Rodrigo Quiroga, Mariano Giustiniano, Lucas Ocampo, Nicolás Bruno, Cristian Poglajen, Pablo Bengolea, Guillermo García
Líberos: Alexis González, Franco López, Facundo Santucci
Seriously, Argentina is one team to watch out for. They are a group of extremely talented players like De Cecco, Sole, Conte, Crer and Quiroga.
We just hope they can produce a more consistent opposite hitter. Someone reliable & smart. We’re betting on the young Ivan Castellani!
THOUGHTS on Argentina’s Roster?
