In a recent interview published by Globo Esporte, Coach Rezende reveals that he is not sure if he wants to remain as the head coach of the men’s team for the next Olympic cycle. The main reason? His father is ill and wants to spend time with him as much as possible.

“There’s a lot of pressure on my part to make that final decision but I have other things in my mind right now. My father is not in the best health and his condition is my priority which takes a lot of my time and my emotions.” -Coach Rezende.

There’s no word yet on when he’d make that decision.

We totally support his decision to focus on his father and devote his time to be with him.

With 2 Olympic gold medals since he became the head coach, Rezende is perhaps the best men’s coach in the world within the last decade.
