We could not find words to describe how we feel after seeing the result of this poll conducted by Sports Business Daily. It’s a SAD TRUTH about Volleyball popularity in the USA.
Truth hurts.

- Biggest drop in popularity among major sports in the last 25 years? Baseball. A 6% interest drop
- 0% of US Sports Fans consider women’s college basketball their favorite sport
- Favorite sports among US Fans: 4% men’s college basketball, 2% PGA Tour, 2% bowling, 2% men’s tennis, 1% horse racing
- In 2010, ZERO percent of America considered the WNBA its favorite sport.
- Sports with the biggest popularity gain among Americans in last 25 years? NFL (+7%) and NHL (+3%)
We’re happy for other sports mentioned but we’re very sad for volleyball. We’re still optimistic that one day volleyball gains more popularity among Americans. Someday volleyball will be bigger than it is now. Someday. One day.
