It’s great to see Kenya back in the World Championship to represent Africa and although they are not one of the favorites we still have so much respect for them. Their training facility is not one of the best and it’s very rare for their players to play professionally to earn $$$.
Anyways, their coach has stated the following to the Press:
“We had also some problems since I took over the responsibility of the Kenyan senior national team last May after working with the Kenyan juniors side which was the difficulty to find out an indoor hall for training after the renovations done at Moi International sports complex in Kasarani. We had also to train with the Kenyan Men’s national team and play some friendly matches with them due to lack of the real preparation to the World Championships. These circumstances push me to have a two weeks camp here Japan prior to the competition and I think it was a good chance for my girls to train with some Japanese teams and play them friendly as well as getting used to the time difference,”
We admire the determination they have for this tournament! We love the fact that they trained against their men’s team to prepare for the World Champs.
We wish you the best ladies!
